MTT Shipping Welcomes the Newest River Ship in its Fleet – MTT Sarikei

MTT Shipping took delivery of its 2nd river ship in a virtual video conference on the 23rd of May 2022. MTT Sarikei is the 17th container vessel in the company’s fleet.


The video conference was attended by representatives from the company, NSB Group, Wang Jing & Co, Allen & Gledhill LLP, Maersk Broker, and the shipyard, Nantong Tongmao Shipbuilding.


The arrival of MTT Sarikei is a testament to the Company’s continuous pursuit in providing comprehensive port coverage, further strengthening its commitment in offering a reliable and quality services to our customers.


MTT Sarikei is MTT Sibu’s sister ship and alike was named after a Sarawakian town, Sarikei.


She has a total length of 99m and an outstanding container intake of 415-TEU which is higher than vessels of similar design due to her unique shallow draft design. The Company believes she can greatly contribute to improving the efficiency in East Malaysia, particularly in calling shallow-drafted ports, thus enabling us to offer our customers with greater domestic connectivity.
