Another milestone unlocked – MTT Shipping takes delivery of the largest newbuilding in the company’s fleet in a virtual closing ceremony held on the 27th of July. The video conference participants included representatives from the company, Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard “Changhong”, Wang Jing & Co (representing the Company), NSB Group and Maersk Broker.
MTT Sapangar, named after Sapangar Bay Container Terminal in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, has a total length of 172m, 28.4m breadth, and a depth of 14.2m with a nominal capacity of 1,800-TEU and the highest container intake in the company’s fleet. The new vessel features some of the latest and improved environmental technologies available in the industry, further strengthening our longstanding commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.
She is also equipped with advanced ballast wastewater management system, in compliance with the International Maritime Organisation (IMO)’s regulations for the Control and Management of Ship’s Ballast Water and Sediments standards.
